1857 INCOMING MAIL MARTINICA - Busta non affrancata da S.Pierre Martinique 27/9/1857 a Roma. La lettera venne trasportata da una nave della Royal Mail Steam Packets fino alla Gran Bretagna e successivamente via Calais, Parigi, Marsiglia, dove è stata imbarcata su un piroscafo postale francese per Civitavecchia. Al verso è annotata la tariffa di 1 franco e 30 cent. pagata in partenza, come previsto nella convenzione franco-inglese del 1856 per le lettere per lo Stato Pontificio. Si tratta dell'UNICA LETTERA NOTA dalle Antille Francesi per lo Stato Pontificio, impreziosita dal fatto di essere diretta ad un colonello del corpo di spedizione francese nello Stato Pontificio.
